Frederick Sister Cities Association
proudly presents
SEVENTH CHOCOLATE GALA BENEFIT EVENT
Frederick experienced the bitter-sweet smells and tastes of chocolate in great class at the Seventh Chocolate Gala Benefit Event, on February 4th, 2008, at the Lynnfield Events Complex… A memorable event that went far beyond indulging in the delights of good music, good wines and delicious chocolate in its most varied forms!
Chocolate Gala, an event that promotes goodwill and understanding among peoples of the world, celebrating friendship and life!
Frederick Sister Cities Association is committed to make a significant and positive difference in its programs in conjunction with its sister cities Morzheim, Schifferstadt, and Aquiraz, to experience and to give significance to sisterhood it preaches!
This is the reason why the 2008 Chocolate Gala Benefit Event introduced a new and exciting program – Youth Ambassador for Peace, thru which, young people from Frederick will have an opportunity to engage in citizen diplomacy actions to increase the knowledge and participation in the promotion of peace here and abroad.
The four young people competing for the Youth Ambassador for Peace position are:
Austin Blake Lewis
Caitlin Holtzinger
Nick Pinkin
Robert Oland
The spirits of the participants were uplifted with two particular visions:
(a) The unveiling ceremony of the program’s logo, a white chocolate dove resting on top of the world, representing our young people flying back and forth in missions of love and peace, created and masterfully carved in chocolate by staff members and students of FCC’s Hospitality and Culinary Institute;
(b) The delivery of the ambulance donated by the County Fire Rescue to the Sister City of Aquiraz, Brazil, a gift that will truly make a difference, for life!
