PROGRAM’S GENERAL GUIDELINES
Groups: High School and College students
between ages of 18 and 22 years old
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Be within the proposed age group
- Be a full time student
- Be a permanent resident of Frederick City/County
- Write and defend an essay of about 1500 words on a theme related to Citizen Diplomacy and World Peace
- Serve as FSCA volunteer/intern for at least 20 hours doing research and development of a humanitarian project under the supervision and orientation of an FSCA Board member. Participate in at least a fund raising campaign to benefit one of the humanitarian projects indicated and/or approved by FSCA (minimum amount of $500.00 must be raised or otherwise agreed)
- Letter of recommendation from the school or from a teacher must accompany the application form.
Rewards/Awards:
- Winner will become the Frederick Youth Ambassador for Peace for the period of one year starting on Brazil Day in Frederick, on Sept. 2008
- Winner will receive a free trip to one of Sister Cities during that period to represent Frederick in an public event and talk about Sisterhood and Peace
- Winner will be a part of the Board of Directors for FSCA for that period of time
- Winner will represent FSCA in different events and will speak publicly in favor of PEACE and Citizen Diplomacy.

Official Selection and Coronation Day: Chocolate Gala Event – Feb. 4th, 2008
- Special Arrangements: Community credits to be negotiated for the hours involved in the project/program.
